Season 6 (2008) - Mark Foster

Sprinting specialist Mark Foster became the first swimmer on the programme in 2008.

Louis Smith is in a league of his own when it comes to Strictly Come Dancing.

The four-time Olympic medallist is the only Olympian to have ever won the famed dancing competition, with a show-stopping victory post-London 2012.

Partnered with Flavia Cacace, Smith's show dance, which began with a acrobatic routine on top of a globe, catapulted the Olympian to the top of the podium.

In the same season, double Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton swapped the velodrome for the ballroom and reached week eight of the competition.

Season 13 (2015) - Iwan Thomas and Anthony Ogogo

It was a tough season for Olympians on Strictly in 2015, with Iwan Thomas and Anthony Ogogo leaving the competition in the second and third week respectively.

As the first female footballer to participate, London 2012 Olympian Alex Scott reached the quarter final on the Strictly dance floor.

She lasted for 11 weeks before being eliminated in Musicals Week after a dance-off against Chris Ramsey and Karen Hauer.

Season 23 (2025) - Harry Aikines Aryeetey and Karen Carney

The newest entries into the Olympics to Strictly pipeline are Harry Aikines Aryeetey and Karen Carney.

The sprinter was part of the 4x100m relay squad that finished fifth at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and won the 100m final at the European Athletics Team Championships the following year.

Now a star of the screen, Aikines Aryeetey has appeared as 'Nitro' in the 2024 reboot of the classic game show 'Gladiators' and already has a taste of Strictly under his belt after competing on the 2024 Christmas special.

A winger with pace and an eye for goal, Carney scored 13 times in 75 international appearances as well as competing for Team GB at London 2012.

Now delivering insight from the sideline as a pundit, Carney will take to the Strictly ballroom to show off her footwork.
