Katie Ormerod and Billy Morgan stormed their way to a double podium finish for Great Britain at the snowboard World Cup Big Air event in Moenchengladbach, Germany.
Ormerod followed up her bronze at last weekend’s previous World Cup event in South Korea by upgrading to silver while Morgan also grabbed himself a medal with bronze.
The Big Air event will be making its debut at the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games with last weekend’s World Cup event also doubling up as the test event.
And Ormerod demonstrated once again on Saturday that she will be one to watch in 2018 as she recorded her two strongest scores from her opening two runs to place second behind Anna Gasser.
The Austrian was a comfortable winner on 184.00 but Ormerod cemented second place with a total score of 158.50 with Japan’s Miyabi Onitsuka third on 146.00.
Ormerod said: "I'm extremely happy to get second at another World Cup Big Air!
“The standard was really high and I'm stoked to put down my two best runs and also try two different 900s.
“It's so awesome that two Brits were on the podium at this event with Billy grabbing third place in the men's event as well!” Morgan meanwhile lifted himself onto the podium with a total score of 180.50, missing out on silver to Switzerland’s Jonas Boesiger on 183.00 while Finland’s Roope Tonteri on 186.00.
He said: "I had an epic day riding, it was a lot of fun and getting a podium is the icing on the cake! It's also epic to be up there with Katie, she rode so well."
