The winter season is officially upon us as the 2025 European Curling Championships get underway this week.
Team GB's curling cohort have already been announced for Milano Cortina 2026, with Team Mouat and Team Morrison set to take to the ice next February.
But first, the sides must journey to Finland, looking to return to the continental podium after winning silver and bronze last season.
In anticipation of the action getting underway in Lohja, here's everything you need to know about the competition.
Where is the European Curling Championships?
Half a century of European Curling Championships have now graced the ice, with this year's event marking its 50th edition.
The competition returns to Finland for the second time in as many years, with the A-Division running from 22-29 November at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja.
Germany took the top step in the men's event last term, with Switzerland winning the women's.
But this Olympic season, there is more on the line.
What is Team Mouat's European history?
Bruce Mouat's rink are back in action and a fifth European gold is on the cards in Finland.
The powerhouse quartet of Mouat, Grant Hardie, Hammy McMillan Jr and Bobby Lammie have soared to four crowns and one silver at previous European Championships, winning their first title back in 2018.
Last year saw the squad miss out on a fifth title in a tense final against Germany, where they lost 9-7.
But after clinching their second world crown in 2025, and reaching an unprecedented 12 Grand Slam victories - seven of which were won in the last 24 months - the all-Scottish squad are eyeing a return to the top step.
McMillan could equal his father, Hammy McMillan Sr's, European championship record of five golds if Scotland reclaim their title in Finland.
What is Team Morrison's European history?
Team Morrison fended off a late comeback from Italy to clinch European bronze last year.
The quartet of Rebecca Morrison, Sophie Jackson, Sophie Sinclair and Jen Dodds beat Team Constantini 6-4 in the bronze medal match to win their first continental medal as a squad.
Morrison, Jackson and Sinclair had previously won a bronze back in 2022, without Dodds, but have brought in their Olympic champion since then.
Last year's bronze completed the set for Dodds, who also has 2019 silver and 2021 gold to her name as part of Eve Muirhead's rink.
Another medal will set the team up perfectly for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in February.
