Barcelona hosts the Grand Depart and the champion will be crowned on the Champs-Elysees on July 26.

Free-to-air coverage is no longer available on ITV, who have also shared the rights in the past, but a daily highlights show will be broadcast on Channel 5 at 7pm.
How many British riders are in the 2026 Tour de France?
Seven British riders will take part in this year’s event.
Double Olympic cross-country champion Tom Pidcock, who became the youngest rider to win on Alpe d’Huez when he landed his maiden career stage win in 2022, is part of the Pinarello-Q36.5 team.
Fred Wright and Josh Tarling were also part of Team GB’s cycling squad at Paris 2024 and will be back across the Channel taking part in this year’s Tour.
Wright, a newly-crowned national champion, is Pidcock’s teammate at Pinarello while Tarling, who narrowly missed out on a time trial medal in Paris after suffering a puncture, rides for Netcompany Ineos.
Two-time Olympian Adam Yates is part of UAE Team Emirates, alongside the overall favourite Tadej Pogacar, while Lewis Askey and Jake Stewart are part of NSN Cycling Team.
Max Walker, who hails from the Isle of Man, makes his Tour debut for EF Education-EasyPost.
How many British riders have won the Tour de France?
Three British cyclists have claimed cycling’s ultimate prize.
History was made in 2012 when Sir Bradley Wiggins became the first Briton to win the Tour de France.
Sir Chris Froome, who announced his retirement in the build-up to this year’s event, followed up with victories in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The following year, Geraint Thomas became the first Welshman to win the race. No British rider has done so since, with Slovenian superstar Pogacar winning four of the last six editions.
How many stages are there in the 2026 Tour de France?
There are 21 stages in total. These are split into seven flat stages, four hilly stages, eight mountain stages, one team time trial and one individual time trial.
Of the mountain stages, there are five summit finishes at Gavarnie-Gèdre, at Plateau de Solaison, Orcières-Merlette and Alpe d’Huez (twice).
The total route is 3,321.2 km with 54,450m of elevation.
