Lois Toulson and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix have made it three diving medals from three for Team GB at Paris 2024 after snatching a dramatic bronze in the women's synchronised 10m platform.
Toulson and Spendolini-Sirieix, whose father Fred – the chef and TV personality – was anxiously watching poolside, secured the final podium spot at the death, after producing a phenomenal dive to leapfrog Canada into third with a score of 304.38.
Joining silver medallists North Korea and dominant champions China on the podium, the pair were overcome with emotion as they bagged their first ever Olympic medals.
“It was so tense for us, said Spendolini-Sirieix. "First off, we didn’t look at the scoreboard so we did not know how close it was.
“Our back twist is our strongest dive and we just wanted to be strong whatever happens.

“Having family and doing it alongside Lois is so much sweeter. I can’t wait to celebrate with them."
A lower scoring third dive pushed the duo back into fifth place but a brilliant final dive scored a mighty 77.76 to propel them back up the podium.
Spendolini-Sirieix added: “I was disappointed more than worried after the third dive because I knew we could bring it back. I gave it my all on the inward and let it all out."
Spendolini-Sirieix and Toulson's performance maintained Great Britain’s record of winning a medal in every diving event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Tom Daley and Noah Williams won silver in the men’s equivalent competition, while Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen took bronze in the 3m synchronised springboard on Day One.
Both Spendolini-Sirieix and Toulson will hope that this is only the start of their success in Paris, with each of the duo still to compete in their respective individual events.
But for now, they will savour their moment in the limelight, writing themselve

“I have been diving for 17 years now and this is my third Olympics," said Toulson.
"My family have been with me throughout all of that and I knew going into this competition, it would be the best chance I will ever have of getting an Olympic medal alongside Andrea.
“Having my family here to watch it, I can’t wait for them to see me with my medal around my neck and just enjoy it.
“We knew our last two dives were our strongest and the most difficult so we never gave up. We kept pushing and we never backed down no matter what.”
