Milano Cortina 2026: Kirsty Muir to headline for Team GB on Day 3

Kirsty Muir is set to headline the first Monday of Milano Cortina 2026 as Team GB take part in four medal events on Day 3 of the Games.

Great Britain are in action in up to five sports, with freestyle skiing, curling, speed skating, figure skating and snowboarding all in the schedule.

Freestyle Skiing

Kirsty Muir gets the British action underway at lunchtime, as she goes in the women’s slopestyle final from 12.30pm local time.

Muir qualified third for the final with a best run of 64.98 and the Aberdonian has vowed to leave it all out there in the final.

She said: “I'm not going to hold back and I think that if I do that and I put a run down that I'd like to do then I'll be just super proud of myself.

The 21-year-old won X Games gold last month, giving her plenty of confidence ahead of Monday's Olympic final.

Curling

Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds will bid to guarantee themselves a medal in the mixed curling when they play their semi-final at 5.05pm.

The British pair ensured their place in the last four after winning their first seven matches before tasting defeat for the first time against Switzerland on Sunday.

They finish their round robin campaign against hosts Italy at 7.05pm on Sunday.

Speed Skating

Ellia Smeding flies the flag in the women’s 1000m, with action getting underway in Milan from 5.30pm.

Smeding was Team GB’s first female speed skater in almost 40 years at Beijing 2022 and has since moved to Canada to re-ignite her love for the sport.

Figure Skating

The ice dance competition gets underway on Monday evening with the rhythm dance, and two pairs are representing Team GB.

World bronze medallists Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson will bring their Spice Girls routine to the ice once more, having competed in the team event last week.

Phebe Bekker and James Hernandez will make their Olympic debuts and are also channelling British music royalty, with George Michael soundtracking their rhythm dance.

Snowboarding

Mia Brookes goes in the women's big air final from 7.30pm.

Brookes was too young to compete at Beijing 2022 but has made a big splash since, including becoming slopestyle world champion in 2023.

The teenager qualified third for the final, with a huge score of 89.00 in her second qualifying run.
