Day 13 of Milano Cortina is set to be an eventful one with the main focus on freestyle skiing and curling from a Team GB perspective.
After patiently awaiting their opportunity, the halfpipe freestyle skiers will get their qualification campaigns underway, while it is moving day in the curling.
And away from the Brits, Thursday also marks the introduction of a new Olympic sport as ski mountaineering makes its debut at the Games.
Freestyle skiing
Gus Kenworthy and Liam Richards will compete in the men’s halfpipe qualification at 9.30am UK time, with Richards the youngest member of the Team GB delegation.
He comes from a family of sportspeople, but is the first to make it to the Olympic stage. You can read more about his story HERE.
Then in the evening, Zoe Atkin is in women’s halfpipe qualification action, starting at 6.30pm UK time. Atkin made her Olympic debut four years ago, and at 23, is a very different athlete as she dreams of making it onto the podium.
Curling
The morning session will be a watching brief for Team Mouat, who kept their hopes alive with an emphatic win over the USA. They now need others to do them a favour, with one of Norway or Italy needing to lose their final match to open up a spot in the semi-finals for Team GB.
If that happens, they will be in semi-final action at 6.05pm UK time, against one of Canada or Switzerland.
Meanwhile, in the women’s curling, Team Morrison will take on Italy at 1.05pm in their final round robin match.
They kept their title defence on track by beating the USA and Japan on Day 12 and will need another win over Italy, as well as other results to go their way to keep their title defence alive.
