Surfing will feature for the first time at an Olympic Games at Tokyo 2020 as one of five sports set to their make official debut in Japan.
Shortboard events for men and women will make up the programme in Tokyo with 20 athletes in each event set to compete.
The four-man heat method will be used with four athletes at a time out on the water.
