Woods wins second X Games medal of the season

Freestyle skier James Woods admitted he had to pinch himself in amazement after claiming his second X Games medal of the season in Norway.

The 25-year-old finished top of Wednesday’s Slopestyle qualifying and scored 87.33 points to claim a bronze medal 24 hours later.

Gold went to home crowd favourite Oystein Braaten with a score of 91.33, while American Nick Goepper took silver with 89.00.

But Woods was still beaming on the third step of the podium, having previously won Big Air gold at last month’s X Games in Aspen.

“To be given the opportunity to compete at the X Games and show myself and everyone what I can do, has always been, and always will be my dream,” said Woods, who will now compete in the Big Air qualifiers with the final taking place on Saturday.

Thank you to everyone involved and everyone who was competing, especially Oystein Braaten, the home town hero, claiming gold.”
