Bianca Walkden added another silver to her collection as she was edged out in the +67kg final of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Fujairah.
Walkden powered her way to the showpiece in UAE against China’s Zheng Shuyin in a rematch of the Manchester Grand Prix final last month.
And she has vowed to learn from the loss after pushing her Chinese opponent hard before having to settle for silver once more.
Walkden said: “I did a lot better than Manchester but the score doesn’t reflect how close the fight was. So, I can only learn from it.
“I did well at the beginning and put a lot of pressure on. But I made a few mistakes at the end which cost me the match.
“I am so disappointed I didn’t win gold again.
“At the end of the day I would give up every Grand Prix for me to win the world title again in May.
“As long as I get gold there's that ultimately what matters.”
She had booked her place in the final after an impressive day of fighting on Thursday, culminating in a 20-5 semi-final win over Turkey's Nafia Kus.
And unfortunately for 26-year-old Walkden, also the Rio 2016 bronze medallist, she could not exact revenge on this occasion as the Chinese athlete registered 17-8 victory.
Double world champion Walkden, who won the overall 2017 Grand Prix crown, has been no stranger to podiums once again in 2018, with three runner-up spots in the Grand Prix added to the European silver in May.
