Second defeat for Great Britain

Great Britain's men's volleyball team suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Belgium in the second of their three-match series in Edinburgh on Thursday night.

The Britons, who were beaten by the same score on Tuesday, rallied to save four match points and force a fourth set, but ultimately fell 25-18, 25-20, 27-29, 25-15.

British coach Harry Brokking, who shuffled his line-up for the tie, said: "It is difficult when we started with a completely new team and from the beginning we were struggling to find our rhythm."

The final match between the two nations will take place on Saturday, after which Brokking must trim his squad ahead of the forthcoming London Olympics.

Brokking added: "Unfortunately, we have to cut two players and I have to do it quicker than any other coach in the world which makes it even more difficult."
