Russell calm ahead of crunch clash at World Championships

Great Britain ice history coach Peter Russell urged his side to keep their cool ahead of their final match at the World Championships.

Russell's side made in four wins from four with a 3-2 victory over hosts Holland in Eindhoven, with goals from Paul Swindlehurst, Chris Blight and Craig Peacock.

It means they need just a point from their final game against Lithuania to secure the title in the third tier of the tournament and promotion to Division 1A.

They could even achieve their goal if Korea don't win their final match against Croatia in regulation time.

"This was another gutsy performance from the guys and we had to dig in a little," Russell told icehockeyuk.co.uk.

"Netherlands put up a massive fight and they played really well, but we stuck it out and got the win.

"We just need one more now. We are on the verge of something very special. These boys are focused and calm, so they won't get carried away, but it is a fantastic place to be in."
