It wasn't quite to be for David though and, despite his best efforts, he missed out on a podium place.

Team GB also missed out on the podium places in eventing despite some strong showings in the jumping.

There was a battling victory for Jo Konta while defending champion Andy Murray sailed through.

Naomi Folkard won her two matches but there was more disappointment on the judo mat.

Our men's rugby 7s team made it two wins from two as they got their competition started while Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson dived well in the 10m synchro but couldn't quite make the podium.

The SassSquad gymnastics girls made the nation proud with brilliant performances in the women's all-around team final but missed out on a medal.

But it was in the pool where we once again shined brightest. That's right Siobhan, you're and Olympic medallist!

Loving the moves James! The men's 4x200m freestyle relay team put the cherry on top as we made it our most successful Games in the pool since Los Angeles 1984!
