Laugher and Gallantree added to team for Diving World Series

Jack Laugher will make his first senior international appearance since the London 2012 Olympics after being added to the British team for the Diving World Series in Edinburgh.

A squad of seven Brits, led by Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley, was announced for the third World Series leg last month with Laugher and Rebecca Gallantree new additions.

Laugher, who competed in the 3m springboard at London 2012, has been handed an entry in that event and comes off the back of impressive domestic performances so far this season.

The 18-year-old won his third successive senior national 3m title in February while last week he took gold in the same event at the British Elite Junior Championships in Leeds.

Meanwhile Gallantree will partner already selected Alicia Blagg in the 3m synchro for the third straight World Series leg after competing together in Beijing and Dubai.

They became Britain’s first female springboard World Series medallists by taking silver in Beijing before finishing fifth in Dubai with the Edinburgh leg scheduled for April 19-21.
