Jones honoured with top skiing prize

Olympic bronze medallist Jenny Jones has been awarded one of British skiing's most prestigious prizes.

Three-time X Games gold medallist Jones, who won Britain's first-ever Olympic medal on snow when she made the women's snowboard slopestyle podium in Sochi, was honoured with the Ski Club of Great Britain's Pery Medal.

“I feel very very proud to join such an outstanding group of people who have received this award," said Jones.

"The last person presented was Pat Sharples and it will be great to have my name on the list under his and to be the first snowboarder on that list. I think it’s a real achievement and I’m very proud, thank you.”

Paralympic gold medallist Kelly Gallagher and her guide Charlotte Evans were also honoured with the award in recognition of their outstanding performances and services to skiing.
