Harrold relishing Glasgow World Cup test

British gymnast Ruby Harrold admits she can’t wait to think of a better end to the season than making her all-around World Cup debut in Glasgow next month.

Harrold has enjoyed a fine year to date, placing eighth in the all-around at the European Championships in Moscow and then 17th at the World Championships in Antwerp.

She will compete against a high-quality field at the Glasgow World Cup including 2012 champion Elizabeth Price and world all-around gold medallist from 2006 Vanessa Ferrari.

Harrold will be joined by fellow Brits and Olympic bronze medallists from London 2012 Dan Purvis and Sam Oldham in Glasgow and wants to end her year on a high.

“I’m really excited to have been invited to compete at the Glasgow World Cup and can’t wait to be performing in front of a passionate home crowd,” she said.

“The all-around World Cup is one of the biggest events of the year with an amazing field of gymnasts. I’m hoping to put in a good display to end what has been a really positive 2013 for me.”
