Four Taekwondo Players Named for Rio 2016

The road to Rio 2016 takes us to taekwondo today as we welcome four news athletes to Team GB for this summer's Olympic Games.

Jade Jones, 23, hometown Flint (women's -57kg)

Bianca Walkden, 24, Liverpool (women's +67kg)

Lutalo Muhammad, 25, Walthamstow (men's -80kg)

Mahama Cho, 26, London (men's +80kg)

Jones is one of two Olympic medallists in the team with Lutalo Muhammad also included as he looks to add to the bronze medal he won in the -80kg division at London 2012.

And Mahama Cho completes the team at +80kg after securing a quota place for Team GB in January bringing the number of selected athletes for Team GB to 152 from 13 sports.

Team GB have won three medal in taekwondo since its first appearance as a full-medal sport at Sydney 2000 with Jones and Muhammad adding to the bronze medal won by Sarah Stevenson at Beijing 2008.
