Folkard boosted by European silver

Team GB archer Naomi Folkard has won silver at the European Championships in Amsterdam.

Folkard, part of a six-strong home squad for London 2012, qualified for the gold medal match with a superb run of form in the competition but was undone 6-0 by a familiar face - Russia's Ksenia Perova.

Perova has now beaten Folkard on the last six occasions, going back to last year's World Championships in Turin.

Folkard admitted her record against Perova was "a curse" but was delighted with her overall performance so close to the Games.

"She has been a bit of a curse, but it comes to those who wait, and I'm sure my time will come," said Folkard.

"Winning a medal of any colour at the Europeans is a great boost to the confidence, it's great for the Olympic preparations and I've been really pleased with the way things have gone this week."
