Ennis announces comeback competition with Worlds in mind

Olympic champion Jessica Ennis is ready to kickstart her World Championships plan of attack into action after announcing what her comeback outdoor competition will be.

The 27-year-old, who married her long-term partner Andy Hill on Saturday, has competed just once since winning heptathlon gold at London 2012.

This came at the Leeds Metropolitan University Invitation in the javelin but Ennis insists she is now ready to get back into the thick of things.

Ennis will open her 2013 season at Edinburgh's Meadowbank Sports Centre on June 8 in a UK Women's Athletic League Premier Division meet and will compete in the hurdles, javelin and long jump.

"I am looking forward to getting back into competition at Meadowbank," said Ennis.

"Last year I had some wonderful highs for obvious reasons but you cannot stand still for long in any sport - let alone one like athletics.

"I have been training hard with a view to this summer's events and the World Championships in Moscow in August is the major goal."
