Ashley McKenzie and Sarah Clark have returned from the Pan-American Open in Uruguay with gold to declare at a fine event for Britain’s judokas.
McKenzie and Clark, both of whom competed at the London 2012 Olympics, both showed their class to win the -60kg and -63kg categories respectively in Montevideo.
European bronze medallist from 2013 McKenzie defeated Mexican Nabor Castillo by ippon to win his gold and Clark beat Brazilian Katherine Campos in her final.
Two-time Olympian Euan Burton was one of five silver medallists as he finished as runner-up in the -100kg while behind him James Austin was one of two Brits to win bronze.
