London-born Tom Smith now trains in Manchester with the Great Britain team. He is a former kick boxer, who made the transition to taekwondo via the Fighting Chance initiative.
He won the WKA Championships and was named the ITF world champion before adopting the WTF style and becoming national champion in his weight category for the first time in 2014.
He describes himself as 'laid-back' and claims his role model is his father. He started his combat sports career after being taken to a local club as a seven year old.
