The BOA is officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with responsibility for the conduct and management of all Olympic-related activity in those countries. The BOA’s primary responsibility is to select, lead and support Team GB on their journey to and during, the Olympic Winter Games, the Olympic Games the Youth Olympic Games and other IOC designated events including the European Youth Olympic Festivals and the European Games.

The British National Governing Bodies for Olympic sport comprise the membership of the BOA. The BOA seeks to support and serve this membership by being a strong, independent and credible voice of British Olympic Sport within the UK and internationally.

The BOA’s Board of Directors are predominantly made up of elected representatives from the Olympic sports as well as International Olympic Committee Members and Non-Executive Directors as well as the Chair of the BOA Athletes Commission. The BOA is an independent and privately funded organisation that relies mainly upon the income it receives from commercial programmes as well as fundraising and events.

Athlete Services Manager - Maternity Cover

The British Olympic Association’s (BOA) mission is to transform British lives through the power of the Olympic values and the success of Team GB. The BOA’s principal role is to prepare and lead our nation’s finest athletes at the summer, winter and youth Olympic Games. Working with the National Governing Bodies, the BOA selects Team GB from the best sportsmen and women who will go on to compete at the greatest sporting competition in the world. The BOA is independent and privately funded. The success of our mission is entirely dependent upon the income we receive from our commercial programmes including but not limited to sponsorship, fundraising, licensing, and events. The BOA is the UK National Olympic Committee and the strong, independent voice for British Olympic Sport responsible for promoting the Olympic Movement throughout the UK.

The British Olympic Association (BOA) is seeking an individual with experience of working with elite athletes to join the Athlete Services team providing maternity cover for the Athlete Services Manager. With the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games just 18 months away, this role provides an exciting opportunity to help the BOA build on the success of recent Games, London 2012, Sochi 2014 and most recently the historic Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Ideally the successful candidate will be able to start with us at the end of November or beginning of December 2016.

Chairman of the Board Vacancy

The British Olympic Association (BOA) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  As a vibrant, dynamic, and highly professional organisation it requires compatible and strong leadership to ensure it continues to maximise the unique opportunities and legacy of its position as one of the pre-eminent and most successful NOCs.  Applications are now being accepted for candidates wishing to be considered for election to the position of Chairman of the Board, for a 4-year term beginning in November 2016.  

The British Olympic Association has just delivered Team GB’s most successful ever Olympic Games away from home in Rio. A total of 67 medals eclipsed the feats of London 2012, with Team GB having won gold medals in more sports than any other nation ensuring we remain the only nation in history to have won a gold medal at every Olympic Games.
