Welcome to the Recruitment page of the British Olympic Association (BOA).

The BOA is officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with responsibility for the conduct and management of all Olympic-related activity in those countries. The BOA’s primary responsibility is to select, lead and support Team GB on their journey to and during, the Olympic Winter Games, the Olympic Games the Youth Olympic Games and other IOC designated events including the European Youth Olympic Festivals and the European Games.

The British National Governing Bodies for Olympic sport comprise the membership of the BOA. The BOA seeks to support and serve this membership by being a strong, independent and credible voice of British Olympic Sport within the UK and internationally.

The BOA’s Board of Directors are predominantly made up of elected representatives from the Olympic sports as well as International Olympic Committee Members and Non-Executive Directors as well as the Chair of the BOA Athletes Commission. The BOA is an independent and privately funded organisation that relies mainly upon the income it receives from commercial programmes as well as fundraising and events.

Community Manager

The Community Manager manages and delivers the content for Team GB social channels supporting the BOA’s digital goals and business objectives 

 Key Responsibilities: 

 1. Social Media community management - 
    o Manage and monitor our social media channels - making sure all content is appropriate, in line with digital brand guidelines and social strategy. 
   o Engaging in fan conversations and driving new fan recruitment. 
   o Daily curating of posts and content to go out across all digital platforms. 
   o Monitoring of relevant channels for engaging with and sharing content e.g. fans, athletes, National Governing Bodies etc. 
   o Work closely with the communications team to ensure all topics of conversation are being covered. 
   o Keeping up to date with social and digital trends, influencers and conversation. 

 2. Content & Campaign co-ordination - 
   o Managing the content calendar and working with all the relevant stakeholders (partners/sponsors/NGBs) to plan and schedule content. 
   o Proactively identifying opportunities for content creation and work on them from idea conception to creation and execution on to our digital channels. 
   o Responsibility for content creation and sharing at key events e.g. Facebook Live and Instagram Stories. 
   o Work with in-house graphic designer to create content for Team GB Channels 
   o Create custom graphics, GIFs and videos. 

 3. Analytics and Reporting - 
   o Collate data from all areas of the Team GB digital property (website, social, shop and Club) and create and provide regular summary reports. 

 Key Challenges in Delivering the Role:- 

   • Working in a fast-paced and at times high-pressured environment. Need to remain proactive and reactive in relation to content ideas and creation whilst meeting additional requirements of this role. 

   • Learning how to prioritise projects based on key timings and deliverables. 

 Relationships and Interfaces: 

 Mainly reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, within the Marketing Team, although will at times be working with the wider Commercial and Communications teams. 

 Person Specification: 

 Essential Skills - 


 • Creative and forward-thinking in relation to content creation 
 • Knowledge of social media platforms and managing content 
 • Awareness of the importance of reporting 
 • Olympic Sporting knowledge 
 • Competent multi-tasker 
 • High energy, enthusiastic 
 • Keen interest in keeping on top of industry trends 

 Desirable Skills - 

 • Working knowledge of PhotoShop and video production tools e.g. Premiere Pro 
 • Reporting experience 
 • Knowledge of relevant tools and platforms to ensure content is assessed and learnings provided
