BOA Athletes’ Commission – Chair Recruitment (2025-2028)
With the continued success of Team GB at the Olympic and Olympic Winter Games, British athletes are on an exciting journey. If you have competed at an Olympic Games or Olympic Winter Games within the last 12 years, you can be a key part of Team GB’s future.
The BOA Athletes’ Commission is an advisory group set up to ensure that the athletes’ viewpoint and interests are at the heart of everything the BOA does. The Athletes’ Commission has 12 members, made up of a mixture of retired and current athletes from summer and winter sports.
The current Chair’s term comes to an end this year* and we are now opening the process of election of Chair for the term of 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2028. This is a paid role for approximately 50 days per year. The initial term shall be for four years, and the successful candidate will be eligible for re-election subject to meeting the ongoing eligibility requirements.
*The current Chair remains eligible to re-stand.
We are looking for someone who:
Has proven leadership skills
Can represent the interests of fellow Olympians – past, present and future Team GB athletes
Is interested in and knowledgeable about the British and global sporting landscape and the Olympic world
Would like to help the BOA provide world-class services and support to athletes
Candidates must have competed for Team GB at an Olympic Games or Olympic Winter Games within the past 12 years (no earlier than London 2012).
