BIOGRAPHY

Susannah Townsend MBE made her international debut in 2008, and went on to win EuroHockey Championships bronze and silver in 2011 and 2013 respectively before being named the 2014 Hockey Writers’ Club Women’s Player of the Year.

In that same year, she won Commonwealth Games silver in Glasgow, before upgrading to European gold in 2015.

Townsend made her Olympic debut at Rio 2016, as part of the history-making women's hockey team who won their first ever Olympic gold medal after winning all eight of their games.

In 2017, she was made MBE in the New Year's Honours List for services to hockey, and won yet another European medal, this time bronze in Amstelveen.
