BIOGRAPHY

Shona McCallin was part of the history-making women's hockey team who collected their first ever Olympic gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The team won all eight of their matches in Brazil, seeing off defending champions the Netherlands in the final in a dramatic penalty shootout.

McCallin picked up more than 80 national caps at under-16, 18 and 21 level as well as claiming four European Championship medals, including gold in 2015.

The Midlands-born midfielder led England’s under-21s to fourth at the 2013 Junior World Cup and made her debut for the senior Great Britain team in the same year.
