BIOGRAPHY

Having made her international debut in 2008, Sam Quek won European and Commonwealth silver with England in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

The defender then captained the side during the 2014 Champions Trophy, before helping them become European champions in London the following year.

Wirral-born Quek’s most high-profile win was undoubtedly at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where Team GB won their first-ever women’s gold medal.

She won her 50th cap for Great Britain in Brazil and later that year appeared on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, before being awarded an MBE in the 2017 New Years Honours list for services to hockey.
