BIOGRAPHY

Polly Swann was part of the history-making women's eight boat which picked up silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Team GB's first ever medal in the event.

The British crew held off the challenge from Romania to clinch second place, only finishing behind the USA on the Lagoa to help Team GB top the rowing medal table.

Lancaster-born Swann missed London 2012 due to a back injury, but became a World champion in the women’s pair when she took gold alongside Helen Glover the following year.

In 2014 the Scottish rower added a European title to her collection when she and Glover won women’s pair gold in Belgrade.
