BIOGRAPHY

Mark Aldred was part of the men's lightweight four boat who won the Olympic B final at Rio 2016, finishing in seventh place overall in what was his debut Olympic Games.

Aldred claimed his first major medal in 2013 when he won bronze in the lightweight men’s pair alongside Sam Scrimgeour at the World Championships in Chunju.

A year later he was on the podium again after picking up European Championship silver in the lightweight men’s four and bronze in the same event at the World Championships.

In 2016, he won another European silver in the men's four, finishing as runners-up to the Swiss world champions.
