Lisa Wooding

  • Date of Birth 01/12/1979

Bishop’s Stortford-born Lisa Wooding’s Great Britain hockey debut came during the 2007 tour of South Africa, a year after she represented England at the World Cup and picked up a Bronze Medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

During her career Lisa had knee operations in 1996 and 1998 to remove meniscus, while she also had a back injury in the 2001-2 season and a torn calf muscle in 2007.

All of these affected her performance and she had to take time out, but bounced back.

In 2009 she gave birth to a son called Haydn and later married Simon Letchford, a top hockey coach.
