Lamin Deen is the pilot for the GB Bobsleigh two-man team, having been competing in the sport since 2006. He is also a Sergeant Grenadier Guard in the British Army.

Lamin was born in London to parents from Sierra Leone and, after moving to Manchester at the age of nine, admits his life was heading down the wrong path before he found the military.

As is common with bobsleigh, Lamin was originally a sprinter and was a member of the Army major unit’s athletics team, specialising in 100m and 200m before finishing 19th in the two-man at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
