Ian Stannard showed his promise by winning the Commonwealth Youth Games time trial in 2004 and the Under-23 team pursuit at the European Track Championships two years later - and he continued to have success in the seniors.

Ian, who comes from Chelmsford, finished third in the Tour of Britain in 2008 and he has continued to win titles at senior level.

He helped Mark Cavendish to Great Britain’s first world road title for 46 years in 2011 before tasting personal success the following year.

Ian lifted the British National Road Race Championships in June 2012 before going on to compete at the London Olympics later in the year.
