Danny Willett reached a career high in 2016 after claiming his maiden major with victory at the Masters in Augusta. Willett’s triumph moved him into the world’s top ten for the first time since he turned professional in 2008.
Willett became only the second Englishman in history to win the Masters and the first European in 17 years to win in Augusta. He made further history in 2016 as one of four golfers to represent Team GB on the sport’s return to the Olympic Games.
Willett won the English amateur title back in 2007 while the following year he was the number one ranked amateur in the world.
