Claire Allan helped England win the 2014 Rugby World Cup in the XVs format in France, coming off the bench for the last ten minutes of the final against Canada.

Following that success, the centre was rewarded with a full-time sevens contract, taking a career break from working as a police officer in the Acton Proactive Robbery Squad.

Competing at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Allan was part of the Great Britain team which reached the bronze-medal match, losing 33-10 to Canada.

She was then awarded another full-time sevens contract for the 2017-18 season.
