Christine Ohuruogu burst onto the international athletics scene when she won Commonwealth Games 400m gold in Melbourne in 2006 and followed this up with a world title in Osaka in 2007.
She completed a golden three years with a trademark late charge in the 400m to top the podium at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, with 4x400m relay bronze also added to her haul in China.
Born in Newham, Ohuruogu was raised less than one mile from the London Stadium in Stratford, making it all the more special when she won 400m silver at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Another individual gold and relay silver followed at the 2013 World Championships and she claimed European Indoor 4x400m relay gold the same year, before Ohuruogu added her eighth World Championship medal two years later.
At the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Team GB stalwart won bronze, running the final leg of the 4x400m relay.
