A former world junior mini-trampoline champion, Asha Philip became the first British woman to achieve a global 100m title when she won gold at the 2007 World Youth Championships.

After overcoming injury, Philip returned to win her first major senior international title in 2014 at the European Championships as part of Britain’s 4x100m relay team.

Philip had earlier won 4x100m relay bronze for England at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and added European sprint relay silver in 2016 to go with selection for her Olympic Games debut in Rio.

In Brazil, the Leyton-born athlete was part of the 4x100m relay team which won bronze, before going one better in the same event to claim a World Championship silver medal in London the following year.
