A double Olympic medallist, Alex Danson was part of the history-making women's team who stormed to gold at Rio 2016, winning all eight of their matches along the way.
The forward also competed at London 2012, winning bronze in front of the home crowds in the Olympic Park.
Danson was just 16 when she made her international debut in 2001 and has since gone on to win over 240 international caps in the process.
She suffered a scare at the Olympic Test Event when she injured her shoulder, but it wasn’t enough to keep her out of London 2012, where she marked her second Games appearance by helping the team pick up bronze.
The prolific forward has continued to add to her collection since, winning Commonwealth Games silver in 2014 and EuroHockey Championships gold 12 months later.
