Born in Cheltenham, Alex Gregory made his Olympic debut in 2012 after being named as a reserve for the men’s quad for Beijing 2008, winning gold in the men’s four alongside Pete Reed, Tom James and Andrew Triggs Hodge.

Gregory’s achievements include gold at the 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 World Championships across the men’s four and eight.

He doubled his gold medal tally at Olympic Games by claiming gold in the coxless four at Rio 2016, before announcing his retirement from the sport in January 2017.

He has also tasted gold at European and World Cup levels and was awarded an MBE for services to rowing in 2013.
