British Olympic Association (BOA) chair Sir Hugh Robertson has been appointed as a Member of the International Olympic Committee.
Sir Hugh joins fellow British members HRH The Princess Royal, Lord Sebastian Coe and Johan Eliasch.
He has served as the BOA's chair since 2016 and was the Minister for Sport and the Olympics during London 2012.
"I am honoured and delighted to be elected as an IOC Member alongside six new colleagues from around the world," said Sir Hugh.
“I look forward to using my experience from London 2012, the past nine years at the British Olympic Association and my time on the IOC Programme Commission to help The Olympic Games develop and thrive in the years ahead."
The International Olympic Committee, established in 1894, is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement.
