Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds’s flawless start to their curling mixed doubles campaign continued with an emphatic 8-2 victory over South Korea.
The pair now have five wins out of five as they pass the halfway stage of the round robin phase.
The British pair earned a controlled 7-4 victory against Sweden on Friday morning and followed that up with a commanding performance against Kim Seonyeong and Jeong Yeongseok.
They made the perfect start with two points against the hammer in the opening end and followed that up with a further one before Korea claimed their first point in the third end.
That did little to knock Mouat and Dodds off their stride, as they scored two in the next two ends before notching another to lead 8-1 with two ends remaining.
The Koreans pulled one back in the seventh end but it was not enough to overcome the inevitable and there was no need for the final end, as Team GB sealed an 8-2 win.
“Those two games were probably our best performances for both of us,” said Dodds.
“We said after yesterday that we wanted to build and there were a couple of things we wanted to work on. We came out today and executed exactly what we wanted to do.”
Mouat and Dodds made the dream start to the match, taking two in the first end after the final Korean stone caught a well-placed guard from Dodds.
That put Team GB in control and they were able to press home their advantage with a further one in the second end, again against the hammer.
The Koreans finally got a foothold in the third with a well-crafted draw from Kim to take one.
Team GB then took full advantage of the hammer, with Dodds left with a simple draw to score two and take a 5-1 lead at the halfway stage.
Mouat and Dodds were full of confidence and were able to seize on further Korean mistakes to once more score two against the hammer.
The sides then exchanged a point apiece in the next two ends, with hands shaken before the final end as Team GB sealed an 8-2 victory.
The pair face Canada on Saturday morning before they take on the USA after lunch, with qualification now in their sights.
“I felt like I woke up this morning in a good place and I’m glad that the shots proved that,” added Mouat.
“I think last time was crazy because everyone was beating everyone. This time has gone more to what the odds might suggest.
“We are probably looking to making sure we get to six wins, which will probably guarantee you. But it might be tough to get through with six and three.”
