Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been awarded a Damehood and Knighthood in this year's King's New Year Honours List, as a further eight Olympians are recognised.
After winning ice dance gold at Sarajevo 1984, Torvill and Dean cemented their place as one of the most iconic British sporting duos in history.
The pair stepped onto the ice for the final time in July, undertaking their final string of performances entitled 'Our Last Dance', waving farewell to fans who had supported them since their Olympic bow in 1980.
The pair will now be recognised for their mammoth sporting endeavours, skating together for more than 50 years and giving back to the figure skating community in Great Britain.
