Girl power has been an overarching theme for GB Snowsport this season, and a final World Cup flurry has only cemented its arc.
In just 24 hours, GB Snowsport clinched a historic four crystal globes as Kirsty Muir, Charlotte Bankes and Zoe Atkin all soared to the top of the podium.
It marked the first time in history that British athletes have ever secured four crystal globes in Olympic disciplines in a single season.
Kirsty Muir
The last 14 months have been a whirlwind for Kirsty Muir
After returning to the slopes following her ACL injury and surgery last winter, the Scot almost immediately flew to the top of the podium for her maiden World Cup victory. She now has four to her name, with three coming this season as she quickly became the first Briton to be awarded the freeski slopestyle and overall freeski park and pipe globes.
After two fourth-place finishes at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, the World Cup season has been one to remember for Muir, wo also won X Games gold in the slopestyle back in January. And with two crystal globes secured in one day, it only further showcases her consistent nature over the past few years, as Australia's Indra Brown was unable to surpass the Scot's 470 points in the final event of the season.
"I’m still very speechless," said Muir.
"It had definitely been a goal of mine for a while and this season had been going so well.
"You have to be consistent over the competitions. I’m just overall so stoked with how the season has gone."
Charlotte Bankes
Charlotte Bankes endured an unpredictable start to her 2025//26 season after injury and surgery, but leaves the slopes as Olympic champion and a crystal globe winner.
The snowboard cross athlete clinched her third snowboard cross crystal globe in just five seasons with a final victory in Mount St. Anne, having also taken the spoils in 2022 and 2023.
Bankes recorded her 40th World Cup podium and 28th career win this season. Those achievements, alongside that incredible mixed team Olympic gold in Italy, are proof of a comeback like no other.
Zoe Atkin
Last year, Zoe Atkin won a maiden crystal globe and was made to share the honour alongside China’s Li Fanghui.
This year, it was a victory all for herself.
The newly crowned Olympic bronze medallist soared to her second consecutive freeski halfpipe globe in Silvaplana.
Victory came in the form of her second World Cup win and fourth podium of the season in the pipe, as she joined teammate Muir in beating out Australia's Brown to the title.
The British freestyle skier topped qualification and delivered a winning first run score of 86.75 in the final, a performance that could not be matched.
A second crystal globe perfectly caps off a season that saw Atkin also take Olympic bronze and X Games victory from earlier in the year.
Atkin said: “I co-won the crystal globe last time, so I really wanted one of my own, so I’m stoked. Capping off a really great season, I’m really happy.”
