Holly Bradshaw and Daniel Rowden kept the British momentum going as both earned third-place finishes in the Diamond League in Doha.
Coming five days after Dina Asher-Smith and Laura Muir’s Gateshead heroics, the second meeting of the Diamond League season saw the Brits come to the fore once again.
The gauntlet was first laid down by European bronze medallist Holly Bradshaw, who impressed on her first outdoor appearance of the season in the women’s pole vault.
After finishing fourth at the 2019 World Championships, medals are the target for Bradshaw this year and she got her campaign off to the perfect start by registering a jump of 4.74m to finish third, behind American duo Katie Nageotte and Sandi Morris.
Then, later on in the evening, Rowden maintained his rising star status with a confident run to third in the men’s 800m in a time of 1:44.60, securing the Olympic qualification time.
The British champion started strongly with a burst of speed on the first lap of the race, and despite not being able to hold onto leading Kenyan pair Wyclife Kinyamal and Ferguson Rotich still registered a podium.
Compatriot Jamie Webb came through in ninth in a time of 1:48.60.
Elsewhere, Adam Gemili was back at the races having competed in Gateshead less than a week ago.
He took part in a star-studded men’s 200m and came home sixth in a time of 20.58 seconds.
And European indoor champion Keely Hodgkinson finished fifth in the women’s 800m in a time of 2:00.63.
