BOA mourns the loss of Bill Lucas, aged 101

The British Olympic Association is saddened to hear of the passing of William Lucas (Bill), at the age of 101.

Bill Lucas represented Great Britain at the 1948 Olympic Games in London and until his death last week was Team GB's oldest living Olympian.

Sir Hugh Robertson, Chairman of the BOA paid this tribute: "The whole of the BOA are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Lucas.

Bill was extremely devoted to his sport and his loss will be felt not only by those close to him but the wider athletics community.
