The evenings are getting longer and the temperatures are rising - but there is still time to reflect on a winter season to remember for British athletes.
Here is a reminder of some of the highlights from the 2025/26 campaign...
Making history at the Winter Olympics
Team GB enjoyed their most successful Winter Olympics in history in February, claiming a record three gold medals in Milano Cortina.
Matt Weston lead the charge in the skeleton with a dominant performance across all four runs in the men’s event, before returning to the track to clinch gold again in the mixed team event alongside Tabby Stoecker.
Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale made history too, as their spectacular gold in the mixed relay snowboard cross was both Team GB’s first ever won on snow, and rendered the day as the first where Team GB had won multiple golds.
At the culmination of a stunning two weeks of curling, Bruce Mouat’s men’s team beat Switzerland in their semi-final to guarantee another medal, confirmed as a silver after their loss to Canada.
Freestyle skier Zoe Atkin flipped and tricked her way to a bronze medal in the women’s halfpipe to make it five medals in Italy, equalling the best ever medal haul from 2014 in Sochi.
There were hugely impressive performances from freestyle snowboarder Mia Brookes, freeskier Kirsty Muir and cross-country skier Andrew Musgrave too, with the latter finishing sixth in the men's 10km interval start free - Britain's highest-ever placing in the event.
Trio win Crystal Globes
Charlotte Bankes added another trophy to her collection by winning the Crystal Globe for her performances across the World Cup season.
She was joined by Zoe Atkin, who scooped her second consecutive globe, whilst Kirsty Muir took home two after she won the freeski slopestyle and freeski park and pipe disciplines.
Skeleton clean sweep
All seven races across the 2025-26 Skeleton men’s World Cup were won by British athletes.
Matt Weston took home five wins to claim the overall title, with compatriot Marcus Wyatt scooping up two victories in Latvia and Germany to finish in third.
Tabby Stoecker finished third overall in the women’s standings.
She and Wyatt also won the mixed team event, thanks to two event wins in Italy and Norway, placing Great Britain at the top of the World Cup medal table.
European curling silverware
Back in November, Scotland earned two medals at the European Curling Championships in Lohja, Finland.
The women’s team of Rebecca Morrison, along with Jennifer Dodds, Sophie Sinclair, Sophie Jackson and Fay Henderson, took home a silver after a 7-5 loss to Sweden in the final.
And Bruce Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie, Hammy McMillan Jr. and Kyle Waddell beat Italy 9-3 to claim bronze for the men.
In April, a new-look rink of Ross Whyte, Robin Brydone, Craig Waddell, Euan Kyle and Duncan McFadzean seized their opportunity to shine on the big stage by claiming World Championship bronze.
Skating success
Short track speed skater Niall Treacy became Britain’s first World Championship medallist in the sport for 30 years.
The 25-year-old earned a bronze in the 1000m in Montreal after just missing out in the 1500m event the day prior.
Nicky Gooch was the last Brit to make the podium in 1996.
