Strong through to trampoline final

Britain's Luke Strong booked his place in the individual under-21 trampoline final with another solid performance at the European Trampolining and Tumbling championships in St Petersburg.

The 18-year-old Liverpool-based gymnast finished in seventh place with a score of 100.680 in the age-group event, which is being held for the first time at this year's championships, to follow up Wednesday's synchronised trampoline qualification.

Nicole Short, also from the City of Liverpool gymnastics club, finished fifth in the women's U21 competition with a score of 92.385 and will compete in Saturday's final with fellow Briton Sophie Lewis, who scored 92.110.

In the senior tumbling competition, Rachael Letsche and Zara Mclean finished second and third in qualifying and will represent Britain in Saturday's final, while British tumbling champion Kristoff Willerton finished fourth to book his place.

GB's Peter Cracknell and Matthew Swaffer both qualified for the double mini trampoline final with Georgina Varley and Mia Taylor claiming their place in the women's competition.
