They were also fifth at the test event in Sochi last season and 0.07 seconds off a medal at the 2013 World Championships. They will be joined by a second British sled piloted by Lamin Deen.

Deen made his Olympic debut in the two-man event with John Baines, an 11th hour replacement for the injured Craig Pickering, finishing in 23rd place.

The GBR2 sled is completed by Ben Simons and Andrew Matthews, the latter the replacement for Pickering who was due to push in both the two and four-man events.
