Mears records best ever Diving World Series result

London Olympian Chris Mears recorded his best Diving World Series placing and highest score in the 3m springboard in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Mears qualified for the final in fifth place after securing 426.55 points and almost 100 for his front 4 ½ somersaults tucked, but went one better in the final with one of his most consistent performances.

Mears, who finished ninth in the 3m springboard at London 2012 as well as fifth in the 3m synchronised springboard alongside Nick Robinson-Baker, finished the final with a total of 455.50 points and secured fourth place.

Tonia Couch was back in action in the 10m platform and finished in fifth place with a total of 348.40 points.
