Jamieson through to 200m final

Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson has qualified for the final of the 200 metres breaststroke at the World Short Course Championships in Istanbul.

The 24-year-old recorded a time of two minutes 06.05 seconds, while team-mate Andrew Willis, eighth at the 2012 Olympics, set a new English record of 2mins 03.94secs to advance to the final.

Lizzie Simmonds - a Bath stablemate of Jamieson and Willis - reached the final of the 200m backstroke, finishing eighth in 2:05.65.

The women's medley relay squad of Georgia Davies, Sophie Allen, Jemma Lowe and Fran Halsall have a medal chance tonight having qualified fourth in 3:54.50, while Allen also reached the 100m breaststroke semi-finals in 15th.
