Heading and Barr secure third shooting medal

Aaron Heading and Kirstie Barr won Great Britain’s third medal of the World Shooting Championships with bronze in the Trap Mixed Pairs.

The duo hit 33 out of 40 targets, holding off Italy and Turkey to finish on the podium in Changwon, Korea.

Slovakia’s Zuzana Rehak Stefecekova and Erik Varga won gold with 45 hits out of 50, while Russia’s Ekaterina Rabaya and Alexey Alipov took silver.

Heading and Barr’s medal comes after Jen McIntosh, Seonaid McIntosh and Zoe Bruce won bronze in the women’s 50m rifle prone and Seonaid McIntosh’s individual gold in the 50m rifle prone.

The pair started strongly, with just one first-round miss before they hit all five targets in round two.
