Richard Hounslow won the K1 at the selection trials and the C2 with David Florence and competed in both at London 2012.

A Tottenham Hotspur FC fan, Hounslow graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in sports science and management.

At the 2012 Olympics in London Hounslow won silver in men's canoe double (C2).
